  • Yarn: Thin lace cotton (#0 or #10)

🔶 STITCHES USED

  • ch – chain

  • sc – single crochet

  • dc – double crochet

  • tr – treble crochet

  • sl st – slip stitch

🔶 PATTERN REPEAT

The pattern repeats over a multiple of 6 chains + 2 for turning.
You can make it as wide as you want.


⭐ ROW-BY-ROW TUTORIAL

🌸 FOUNDATION CHAIN

  1. Chain a long chain in multiples of 6

  2. Add +2 extra chains for turning.

Example: 6×10 = 60 + 2 = 62 chains.

🌸 ROW 1 — Foundation row

  1. Skip 2 chains from hook.

  2. In the 3rd chain → 1 sc.

  3. ch 2, skip 2 chains, 1 sc in the next chain.

  4. Repeat until the end.

  5. Turn.

You now have a base of evenly spaced small arches.

🌸 ROW 2 — Small shell arches

  1. ch 3 (counts as 1 dc)

  2. In the first arch (ch-2 space): 3 dc

  3. In next arch: 1 dc + ch 1 + 1 dc

  4. Next arch: 4 dc

  5. Repeat steps 3–4 to the end.

  6. Finish with 1 dc on the last sc.

  7. Turn.

You have alternating small V-stitches and 4-dc shells.


🌸 ROW 3 — Mesh row

  1. ch 1

  2. 1 sc on top of first dc

  3. ch 3, skip 3 stitches, 1 sc in the top of the V-stitch

  4. Repeat to the end

  5. Finish with ch 3, sc in last dc

  6. Turn.

This creates a line of even mesh spaces.

🌸 ROW 4 — Tall decorative stitches

  1. ch 4 (counts as 1 tr)

  2. In first mesh arch: 3 tr

  3. In next mesh arch: 1 dc + ch 1 + 1 dc

  4. In next mesh arch: 4 tr

  5. Repeat steps 3–4 until the end

  6. End with 1 tr

  7. Turn.

This row makes the long “lacy waves” seen in the video.


🌸 ROW 5 — Simple mesh

Same as Row 3:

  1. ch 1

  2. sc in the first stitch

  3. ch 3, sc in next ch-1 space (V-stitch center)

  4. Repeat to the end

  5. Turn.

Repeat Rows 2 → 5 for the entire project.

This creates:

  • shells

  • V-stitches
